2010 Quilter's Workshops & Retreats
With the new quilt shop, Waterwheel House Quilt Shop just down the road, we are now able to offer more quilting workshops in 2010 than ever before!
Kim will teach the workshops at the Waterwheel House Quilt Shop; your meals and lodging will continue to be here at the Inn. You'll have the advantage of a lovely, brightly lit class room at the shop with supplies handy if you need them. The shop owner, Shelley is extending a 15% discount off your class supplies at the shop including the fabric and patterns needed!
We did a test run on this in October, 2009 with our Froncie Quinn class and it worked out beautifully! There is comfortable seating for up to 12 students and the shop has sewing machines if you need a loaner, at no charge! And if you need to stretch you can go check out the shop!
Here's the current "line up" of classes for 2010 so far:
- January 29-31 ~ Carolina Lily/No "Y" Seams, pattern by Deb Tucker. A lovely pattern that offers a new twist on Flying Geese that makes them sew easy and sew fun! A stunning center medallion Carolina Lily is made without the hassle of "Y" seams.
- February 5-7, 2010 ~ New Spin Nine Patch. Take your basic Nine Patch and make it into something new and fresh . . . you'll have a top done in the day & a 1/2 of quilting
- March 5-7, 2010 ~ Sunflower Patch (Dresden) Table Runner, pattern by Virginia Robertson. Make one for every season and you'll have the best dressed table of anyone! A technique for making the Sunflower (Dresden Plate) that ensures you will finish it in the weekend.
- April 16-18 ~ Bargello Wallhanging. Strip piecing that makes a wave pattern. Easy and fun for a wall hanging or twin quilt.
- April 30-May 2, 2010 ~ Quick Sweatshirt Jacket, pattern by Two Kwik Quilters. Take one sweatshirt and your favorite fabrics and you will make a gorgeous jacket that everyone will envy!
- October 28-31, 2010 ~ Hand-pieced sampler with Froncie Quinn - 2 full days of class. Froncie's return engagement! Teaching a hand-piecing sampler that will give you all the techniques you need for "peaceful piecing".

"Independent Quilt Study" The Water Wheel House Quilt Shop offers a wide variety of classes every Friday and Saturday with "Finishing School" on Sunday afternoons. You can take a class at the shop on your own or with a friend and stay here (we will offer you a 10% discount off your room and the shop offers a class supply discount, too).
