2012 Quilter's Workshops & Retreats
Kim has added a few extra classes this year so check them out below. The January class is 2 full days of sewing since it is MLK Weekend; all others are the usual 1 1/2 days. Bring a quilting or non-quilting friend; prices are listed on the Workshop Info page. Classes are for all skill levels. Here are the class decriptions for 2012:
- January 13-16 ~ Twinkle, pattern by Sew Be It. Bring an assortment of fat quarters and one contrast fabric to quickly sew this new "spin" on the Friendship Star block. Pattern additional. Taught by Kim Seymour
- March 15-17 ~ Shadowbox, a bit more challenging, but an unique quilt that has a shadowed effect. Great for using the big prints you want to show off!
- April 13-15 ~ Sampler of Techniques, using some techniques from "Sew A Row" book by Karin Helleby. Learn to make off-set flying geese, funky trees, delectable mountains and more to piece into a lovely sampler. Taught by Kim Seymour
- April 27-29 ~ Tote Bag, taught by Shirley Banks, former registrar of VQF, a friend of Kim's and a fabulous quilter! With a pack of charm squares, piece and machine quilt a lovely tote bag. Great for beginners and experienced quilters you'll go home with a nearly finished project.
- October 26-28 ~ Wool Applique, using felted wool, learn simple emroidery stitches to hand applique ornaments or a penny "rug". Embellish with beads and buttons to make a perfect Christmas gift or decorations for your own home! Booklet or pattern additional. Taught by Kim Seymour
