Fall Is In Vermont!
Pumpkins, apples and crisp leaves bring favorite aromas. Kids back in school, team sports and, this week, parent/teacher conferences. Yes, fall is in full swing here in Vermont!
We had a busy and hectic summer with visitors from far and wide – inn-to-inn walking tour guests kept us hopping with dinners and transportation, but we met so many new people and enjoyed hearing about their walking adventures! With serving dinner any night we have walking tour guests there are plenty of opportunities for dinners May through October – just mention you are interested in dinner when making your reservations and we will add you to the list. Jeff is trying new recipes along with old favorites – oven-roasted sweet potatoes are becoming my favorite, curry zucchini soup and a new vegan black bean stew that I love hot or cold!
We keep making upgrades to the rooms and this year updated the furniture in several of the front motel rooms, re-glazed tubs and sinks (Motel 8, 9 and Inn 1), had more of the exterior painted (a never-ending process with our hard winters) and added plants in front of the long motel wing. We do look forward to continuing the process each season.
In the the family news, Alexis is a freshman in high school and, for those of you who have watched her grow, you know what a big change this is for the Seymour Family! She is now playing field hockey (instead of dance from years past), wearing contact lenses and morphing into a young adult . . . we are still adjusting to all the changes!
Betty and John are doing well with age-appropriate aches and pains! They celebrated their 60 the wedding anniversary in April with a party at the inn in May. All three “kids” were here (Tony, Kim and David), half of the grandkids along with a few members who made the trek from the mid-west and dozens of friends came to give their well-wishes to the happy couple!
