Mom & Dad’s Retirement

We get questioned frequently about John and Betty, the former innkeepers and Kim's parents who retired in 2002. The short explanation is that they retired and went to prison. There is a bit more to the story.

They became the Vermont representatives for Prison Fellowship Ministries in early 2005, quickly leading to work at the Southern State Correctional Facility as volunteers. About 10 years ago, they joined Church at Prison, Inc as their southeastern Vermont ministry. This association with an organization that supports ministerial work in all the Vermont prisons has given them appropriate and necessary ministerial and financial oversight. That ministry has grown, both in the prison and with ex-inmates, to provide a church within the prison and help ex-inmates in the transition to a post-prison life.

Should you choose to support them on this Giving Tuesday, donations should be made out to CAP, Inc, with First Ave. Ministries in the memo line.
