Every small inn has a story—and COHO is no exception. Nestled along Vermont’s scenic Route 100, our cozy motel and inn welcomes guests from all walks of life: hikers, riders, road trippers, and weary travelers in search of something simple, genuine, and peaceful. But we often get one question in particular:
“What’s with the rabbit?”
Let us tell you.
🌲 A Name Rooted in Place—and Spirit
COHO stands for Comfortable Hospitality, and that’s the heart of everything we do here. Our goal has always been to provide a clean, cozy, welcoming place for guests to rest their heads without any pretense—just Vermont charm and real care.
But when it came time to choose a symbol to represent COHO, we knew we wanted something more than just a name. We wanted something that reflected our values: quiet strength, gentleness, and the ability to adapt with the seasons.
Enter: the rabbit.
🐇 Why a Rabbit?
Rabbits are everywhere in Vermont—darting across trails, nesting in fields, and peeking out from under porch steps. They’re part of the landscape, just like we are. But they’re also quiet observers, quick thinkers, and gentle survivors—all qualities we admire.
In many cultures, rabbits also symbolize:
Home and comfort
New beginnings
Good luck
Hospitality and warmth
Not a bad spirit animal for a small inn, right?
Our Stylized Rabbit Logo
Our logo was designed to be both modern and timeless—something that felt natural, a little curious, and deeply rooted in place. You’ll see the rabbit pop up in subtle ways: on signs, menus, and our glowing neon rabbit sign, located in our guest lounge - an ode to mid century motels.
It’s our way of saying:
You’ve found a soft place to land. You’re safe here. You’re welcome here.
📍 So What Is COHO?
COHO is more than a place to sleep—it’s a rest stop with soul. Whether you're walking from inn to inn, riding your motorcycle up Route 100, or just exploring Vermont’s back roads, we hope you feel something special when you arrive.
A little quieter. A little calmer. A little more like home.
Just like a rabbit in the grass—tucked in, alert but relaxed, and exactly where it’s meant to be.
